I love dancing, photographing dance and designing for dance clients. It’s always nice to have powerful images to use in publicity materials, and usually also presents a fun challenge to see how I can crop, combine, or otherwise alter how people view those photographs. Brazos Dance Collective is a modern dance collective in Bryan-College Station that I used to dance with and still am involved with as much as possible. They’re having a show this weekend and it’s sure to be amazing. Find out more about the show here.

When I was photoing a new addition to the Barbara Bush section at the George Bush Presidential Library and Museum, I discovered some of the photos I’d taken the last couple of years were hanging on the wall. It’s always fun to happen upon my work in neat places, so I thought I’d share.

TAMU Dance 2012

One of my last projects of the year was a photoshoot with the TAMU Dance Department. The photos will be used on the promo materials for their annual concert this spring. I always love shooting talented dancers in action.

It’s official, The Whoop Group from Texas A&M has received the prize from Chevrolet Nationals for the best photos + video (above) from the events we hosted on campus in October. Brandon Jarratt, Kathryn Hazard and I shot all the photos (and I processed them all). Matt Johnson and students from A&M Consolidated High School shot the video footage for us and I edited it. I heard there were some other pretty sweet videos this year, so it’s definitely an honor to have won. (Oh, and did I mention–we all get prizes. Sweet! : )

P.S. This announcement couldn’t have come at a better time. I was sitting at my desk, trying futilely to get back to work after watching Sherman’s final press conference. I think Brandon sums it up pretty well on his blog.

Chevrolet 2011

For our consulting project, a group of seven of us is in charge of creating an entire marketing campaign (research, advertising, event-hosting and post-campaign research) for Chevrolet–on a very tight budget I might add.

These are rack cards we created and printed to raise awareness of their college discount program. Super excited at how they turned out!

We’ll be running this ad on RecTV, too.

These flyers will wallpaper bulletin boards on campus and Northgate.

Then we’ll put these on top for the drive event.

We’ll also have sandwich boards displayed around campus the week prior to our events. Based on our research last year, we found this to be the most effective form of advertising that we did.

Mitchell A. Wilder Award

Recently, I was awarded a Mitchell A Wilder Award from the Texas Association of Museums for the “sticket” I designed last year for the George Bush Presidential Library and Museum.

Sarah and Ben tied the knot on June 17, 2011. It was a beautiful outdoor wedding at Vintage Villas, just west of Austin, Texas. Sarah looked fantastic for her engagement session, but I think she looked even more gorgeous on this special day. Ben is also quite the handsome fellow. I could always count on him to cut up and have a good time–and his groomsmen followed suit perfectly. These two have been sweethearts since high school and were so excited to officially start their life together. Glad I got to take part in your special day and best of luck Mr. & Mrs. Carpenter!
